News : The power of valuing people.

It sounds so obvious, doesn't it? But common sense, isn't always common practise as they say. When Greg Dyke, former Director General (CEO) of the BBC was forced to resign, employees came out onto the streets to protest and support their leader. Unheard of in modern business life. Watch this clip of Greg Dyke explaining what he did to create that 'followership'.

Based on a strong belief that people will always perform better in an environment where they feel valued, he views the job of a CEO is to spend a lot of time communicating. "It's amazing", says Dyke, "how many people you can get on your side just by saying thank you, that was a good job, well done."
